Subject: Register your building for a free Government-funded Digital TV reception capability inspection report

Dear …………..

The Australian Government has announced that all free-to-air TV broadcasts in Australia will be converted from analog to digital by 31 December 2013. The first areas are to have their analog TV transmission switched off in the first half of 2010.

Digital TV brings many advantages, including better pictures and sound; more free-to-air channels and may also include extra services not available through analog broadcasts. However, apartment blocks and townhouses may require modification to the master or communal TV reception system to receive these free-to-air digital TV services.

For this reason, there may be costs associated with digital switchover, including: upgrading the roof-top antenna; running new cabling; buying new amplifiers; and labour costs for design and installation.

The Australian Government has recently announced that apartment and townhouse residents in Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Gold Coast and Perth can take advantage of a FREE technical survey on their digital television readiness to be conducted by Australian Digital Testing Pty Limited. Australian Digital Testing will survey a total of six hundred sites.

The selected buildings will undergo a full technical inspection of the TV reception system and a free report will be provided highlighting the conversion cost and likely time-frame of any upgrade. This report will be especially valuable if you need to get quotes for the work to be done.

If you would like to nominate your property for a free inspection report, just click on the following link http://www.digitaltesting.com.au/registration/ and complete the on-line registration form.

If selected for the survey, Australian Digital Testing will contact you to arrange for a convenient time to inspect the current TV reception system within the building.

If you should have any further questions about the survey, please do not hesitate to call Kate at Australian Digital Testing on 02 9889 3067 or Mia Lauzé Assistant Manager Digital Switchover Taskforce Department of Broadband Communications & Digital Economy 02 8023 3731.

Yours sincerely
